Toronto, ON – May 16, 2025 – The Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC) is proud to strengthen its growing membership by welcoming Conexus Nuclear Inc., a Canadian not-for-profit corporation funded by 11 members across six countries worldwide that aims to achieve excellence through collaboration with CANDU and advanced nuclear technologies.
With a 40+ year legacy as a reliable partner and thought leader for the CANDU industry, Conexus has brought together a global network of members, suppliers, and partners to drive progress through collaboration to shape the future of nuclear energy. Conexus brings the industry together to solve complex technical problems, identify opportunities, knowledge-share, and support robust regulatory acceptance.
In Canada, our Canadian-made CANDU reactors play a significant and unique role in the production of medical isotopes. Specifically retrofitted for isotope production, the CANDU reactors located at the Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation sites have the capacity to produce a wide range of medical isotopes, without interrupting the generation of clean energy. Conexus’ previous work in Canada has helped to demonstrate the feasibility of the reactors’ life-extension projects, which also ensures reliable isotope production long into the future.
