Through a Memorandum of Understanding established in 2023, the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC) and Ontario Tech TALENT began work to gain a better understanding of the workforce needs of Canada’s medical isotope industry and gather skills intelligence to ensure Canada’s nuclear isotope industry has access to a diverse and job-ready workforce for all stages of the supply chain. This first phase of work produced our collaborative “Skills for Isotopes” report, which provides a skills assessment for the isotope sector, a first-of-its-kind industry report. Through this collaboration, we aim to ensure the future workforce is equipped to advance isotope innovation and address new challenges in global health.

As CNIC and TALENT continue this important work together, this event will highlight the next Phase in the development of a workforce strategy for the medical isotope industry in Canada. The event will discuss how CNIC members and supporters can contribute to this work and how to get involved as we shape the future of the next generation of isotope leaders.
