The Canadian Radiotheranostics Leaders’ Summit is an annual event held by the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC), the Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE), and a consortium of academic centers (UHN, LHSC, BC Cancer, and CAMH) that aims to bring together leaders from across the global isotope supply chain, business and investment communities, government representatives, healthcare leaders, academics, students and more to shape Canada’s isotope leadership to support patients globally.

In Canada, key partnerships and collaborations across the isotope supply chain have fostered innovation, encouraging new approaches and technology to produce emerging isotopes.

Ensuring equal access to radiopharmaceuticals and diagnostic scans, in addition to effectively incorporating radiotheranostics into cancer care, requires transdisciplinary collaboration between radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and technologists, radiologists, radiation and imaging scientists, along with dedicated infrastructure and a specialized supply chain. While Canada does possess much talent in this space, innovative models of care, infrastructure, and patient partnerships are needed to translate this exciting science into access to care and improved survival from cancer.

The theme of the Leaders’ Summit 2026 is Collaboration in action: Unleashing Canada’s radioisotope future.
